Security Improvement – Receive Notifications on LINE when Logging in to the PC Version or LINE Store
As part of the efforts to improve LINE’s security, a new feature has been added that will send a notification via chat to your smartphone version of LINE when you log in to the PC version or LINE Store.

This feature allows you to immediately find out if someone is trying to log in to your LINE account via PC or other methods without your knowledge.
Notifications will be sent if:
- Your account is logged in to the PC version of LINE or if a login attempt fails.
- Your account is logged in to LINE Store or if a login attempt fails.
In either of the above cases, you will receive a notification on your smartphone version of LINE via chat message from an account called “LINE.”
This account is operated by LINE Corporation for the sake of improving security, and even if the account is not added as a friend it will detect login attempts and automatically send a message to your account.
- Notifications will be sent even if you have set automatic login.
- The “LINE” account will not be displayed on your friends list.
- This is an important account for sending login notifications, and so you cannot block it.
How to Respond to Unknown Notifications
If you receive a notification even though you have not attempted to log in to your account, then it may mean that someone has logged in to or attempted to log in to your account without your knowledge from a PC or other means.
Please start your LINE app and change your password immediately if this is the case.
If someone has logged in to your account without your knowledge from a PC, then you can go to Settings > Accounts > Devices and tap Logout to forcibly log out that device.
The only account that LINE Corporation manages and will use to send login notifications is the “LINE” account. Please be wary of accounts that may attempt to impersonate it.
